Announcement re: COVID-19

Hello Everyone,

With a heavy heart, I must announce that effective immediately, there will be no appointments at my home studio until at least April 6th. I have been carefully weighing the options and I did not come to this decision lightly. Closing my business, even for the interim, means a huge financial burden for me and my family. I firmly believe that it is in everyone’s best interest to postpone all current sessions so that we can get ahead of this nasty virus. It takes everyone’s cooperation to make that happen. While many of my sessions are ‘time sensitive’, I will be contacting everyone individually to discuss the next steps. Because my studio is within my home, I have to look at the bigger picture on how this could potentially affect my family and my clients. While my son and I have stayed home to isolate since March 13th, my husband (FedEx courier) continues to work outside the home therefore we are not completely isolated.

For newborn clients: While the recommended age for a newborn session is to take place within the first two weeks of life, it might be the case where we will be photographing your baby at an older age. Please do not panic! I kindly ask you to continue to keep me in the loop once your baby has arrived so that I can maintain my records and prioritize each session. Rest assured, I have photographed numerous babies at an older age and have done so quite successfully. Here are a few sessions of older newborns so you have an idea that it is still very possible to achieve the sleepy/posed images at an older age: 6 weeks oldalmost 5 weeks old5 weeks old10 weeks old5 weeks old

For any other non-newborn studio sessions that are scheduled in March and early April: I am happy to move forward with the session if you would like to do the session outdoors. I know it is not an ideal time of year with the seasonal change, so if that is not an option for you, we will reschedule once the isolation recommendation by health authorities has been lifted.

For sessions that have already taken place but have not yet had the ordering appointment, I am working on a solution to temporarily offer online viewing & ordering appointments. These will be similar to the in-person experience but will be done from the comfort of your home. Stay tuned for an an email from me if this affects you.

I would like to thank everyone for your support and for understanding the decisions that I have had to make. Tough times are ahead and I admit I am apprehensive about what the future holds. I am doing my very best taking all of the recommendations from the federal government and local health authorities. I encourage you to reach out to me via email or phone with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Emily Brown
