Ottawa Child and Infant Photographer, Nationally Accredited
This past week I attended the International Photography Conference in Ottawa, Ontario with the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). We had a super busy schedule where I attended numerous photography workshops taught by some leaders in our industry, including the highly talented Drake Busath of Busath Studio & Gardens, David Anthony Williams, Dani Miller of Sugar Hill Photography, Damon Tucci of Damon Tucci Photography, Joel Grimes, and Tracie Maglosky of Tracie Jean Photo. The amount of information that was shared will take some time to process, but in addition to all of the learning, the conference brought the annual PPOC awards banquet. I am proud of my colleagues for their hard earned awards and for their advancement within the association.
One of the most interesting parts of the conference for me was to attend the Accreditation judging. I watched the live judging take place and hear the comments about the images that passed or failed. Accreditation demonstrates that the photographer has proven professional ability to the Board of Examiners of the Professional Photographers of Canada. In assessing Accreditation submissions, the judges consider the following criteria: Impact, Creativity, Style, Composition, Presentation, Colour Balance, Centre of Interest, Lighting, Subject Matter, Technique and Story Telling. To be accredited is to be recognized as an expert in a given field. With all of this said, I am pleased to announce that I have just received my Accreditation in the category of Child and Infant!
Below are my images that were submitted and accepted for my Child and Infant Accreditation.
I received my Accreditation in the category of Newborn in February of 2015. You can view the images here.
